SUP 2 CLEAN

Our stand-up paddle boarding campaign created an engaging platform for local schools to immerse
themselves in the pristine beauty of Currumbin Creek. Students had the unique opportunity to explore this
natural environment from their paddleboards, followed by a beach clean-up and an informative education
session.
As part of the experience, students actively participated in the collection and analysis of litter found along
the creek. The gathered information was meticulously recorded and subsequently contributed to the
Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI), a national register for litter. This hands-on involvement allowed
students to witness the tangible impact of their efforts, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility
and community contribution.
We are proud to acknowledge the generous sponsorship of this program by the Queensland Government
Department of Environment and Heritage Protection. Through their support, we were able to facilitate an
enriching experience for students while making a meaningful contribution to the broader initiative of
preserving and protecting our marine environments.
